The common requirements:
Knowledge of tax laws: Understanding federal and state tax laws, regulations, and procedures is essential. You should be up-to-date with the latest tax laws and changes and understand how to apply them to individual and business tax returns.

Education and certification: If you have a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, you will have a better chance of getting hired. An enrolled agent (EA) or a certified public accountant (CPA) are preferred candidates.
